Meet Tim.
Tim Kelly has been faithfully representing the Mid-Michigan area for more than a decade. He assumed office with the Michigan House of Representatives representing the Saginaw area in the former 94th House District on January 1, 2013, and served for six years before being term-limited out of the House of Representatives in January of 2019. As a freshman, Tim Kelly won Freshman Lawmaker of the Year by MIRS news.
In 2020, Tim ran the most successful conservative campaign in the Bay City, Flint, and Saginaw congressional district in nearly a decade, winning 41.8% of the vote against incumbent Congressman Dan Kildee (D).
In 1995, Tim was chosen to be Governor John Engler's Education Policy Advisor. He was instrumental in creating, organizing, and administering the Michigan Department of Workforce Development as the Special Advisor to the Director of the department. In addition, he held positions in economic and workforce development on behalf of the Governor of Indiana, worked on the Human Resource Investment Council, was the Director of the Indiana Council on Vocational Education, and was the Business Development Specialist with the Indiana Department of Commerce.
Tim knows how to get stuff done. During his time in the Michigan House of Representatives, he routinely voted for legislation that championed free enterprise, limited government, and personal responsibility. He worked to deregulate bureaucratic red-tape that hindered and obstructed commerce, put families and students first, and fought teacher unions in pursuit of full access to better education for the state of Michigan.
After being term limited in the Michigan House of Reps, Tim left with a lot of unfinished business. Lansing politics is still a mess, and an unmitigated disaster for the people it purports to serve.
"The only positive aspect of our state Capitol continues to be our Republican majority in the legislature. COVID has exposed the hubris of government as beneficiary and the fallacy of central planning. Governor Whitmer has ridden this wave of corruption and has taken every advantage of the pandemic to shutter our businesses and control our lives."
Tim Kelly, who is running in the newly formed 35th State Senate District comprising of Midland, Bay City, and Saginaw, continues to be the best option for Michigan students, families and business owners.
